Work / Red Krypton

Custom booking for health startups, including prescription telehealth.

As a contract Head of Engineering for the agency Red Krypton, I started its custom software practice and led engineering for its startup clients. I worked directly with the founders of Great Many and The Gleamery, from first scoping call to launch.

What I did

  • Recruited and led the engineering team, and scoped and pitched new projects directly to prospective clients.
  • Built Great Many's full-stack booking system for its flagship Plasma Hair Restoration service in TypeScript with Next.js, Apollo Server and Prisma, integrated with the Boulevard client-experience platform.
  • Connected six vendors into a single prescription telehealth flow for Great Many, so customers could complete purchases entirely online.
  • Set up Great Many's analytics to track conversion and acquisition cost and to support targeted email and SMS campaigns.

Great Many: going national

Great Many is a hair-growth company that brings in-studio treatments, products and prescriptions together. It started with a brick-and-mortar studio in New York but wanted to serve customers everywhere, with products and prescriptions tailored to each person's hair loss. I integrated an asynchronous telehealth provider, an online compounding pharmacy and customer notifications, so customers could buy entirely online, from consult to prescription. That let Great Many market itself nationwide.

A year after launch, I ran a technical audit of the platform.

The Gleamery

For The Gleamery, a modern dental-care startup, I led the build of a custom appointment-scheduling flow.
